Mainstream Energy Solutions Limited (MESL),/PENSTOCK, operators of the Kainji, Jebba and Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plants, was at Niger Foods Minna office as part of a stakeholder engagement aimed at strengthening collaboration and mutual understanding.

During the meeting, discussions centered on the proposed irrigation system design by AWWA downstream Zungeru hydropower dam
MESL/PENSTOCK shared perspectives on the potential implications of the irrigation activities on water inflow to the Zungeru Reservoir and the attendant effects on power generation and plant operations.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to explore collaborative approaches that balance agricultural development and food security with sustainable energy production. Emphasis was placed on the need for coordination and information sharing to ensure optimal water resource management.
Also discussed activation of the eligible customer regulation, which allows them sell electricity directly to end users like Niger Foods, by passing the Discos.

The engagement concluded on a positive note, with both organizations reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and partnership in support of sustainable development in Niger State and beyond
Mr. Seun Balogun was nominated to midwife as the Project Manager on this engagement.
