Niger Foods Security System and Logistics Company Limited has received students from Niger State College of Agriculture, Mokwa, on an educational field trip to its office, input warehouse, breeding and feedlot center in Tagwai as part of efforts to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical agricultural experience.

Niger Foods took a broad multidisciplinary approach to this educational field trip, by taking the college students through its policies and strategic programs/projects, mechanization, introduction of digital tools and technologies like geo-localized services/precision agriculture, indigenous developed innovation (Apps) in managing small holders engagement, the 7 layer approach to modernizing livestock production in Niger State, better use of resources and improved access to markets through various partnerships like the offtake agreement with Dangote group. Working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular: SDG1 – No Poverty, SDG2 – Zero Hunger, offering a path to environmental sustainability by promoting resilience, enhancing productivity and resource efficiency, and improving food quality and safety while closing the gender gap in Agriculture. Various presentations were made by staff of Niger Foods.
NYSC Niger Foods Staff, Haniffah Kulishi, took the college students through the company seven policies and sixteen agricultural programs tailored to enhance crop production, livestock development, value addition, and youth empowerment. She added that these initiatives are designed to strengthen agricultural sustainability and foster innovation within the sector.

Lead Data Analyst at Niger Foods, Muhammad Babakeke, described the Niger Foods Agric Suite solution as a transformative platform that leverages technology and innovation to boost agricultural productivity and inclusion.
Niger Foods Agric Suite is also integrated with virtual agronomy solution (ISDA – an organization based in Uganda), Virtual Agronomist solution from iSDA (Innovative Solutions for Decision Agriculture) is an AI-powered advisory service that provides farmers with tailored, data-driven agronomic advice. Niger Foods Agric Suite focuses on using AI-powered insights to improve farming in Niger State, empowering farmers with data and technology. We have trained thousands of youths in field farmer & farms data captured via our Deployed API.
Muhammad Babakeke revealed that the company’s partnerships with Dangote group will engage youths and women in productive agriculture, create employment opportunities, and significantly contribute to food security and rural development across the state.
Also speaking, Geospatial Data Analyst, Chinwendu Ukaha, emphasized the importance of precision in modern agriculture through the application of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). She noted that the technology enables farmers to make data driven decisions that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and effective resource management by using the power of AI/remote sensing to transform agronomic practices across our farmers network (Remote soil analysis, Nutrient recommendation and field monitoring can be evaluated remotely.

During the visit, the Coordinator of Livestock at Niger Foods, Dr. Tumsiyya Maimuna Mann-Isah, highlighted the vital role of livestock production within the company’s broader agricultural agenda. She explained that the livestock 7-layer approach was designed strategically to complement Niger Foods’s agricultural programs aimed at strengthening food security and inclusive livestock farming.
Dr Tumsiyya Maimuna Mann-Isah, further noted that the initiative focuses on improving breeding, feed quality, and overall productivity, while empowering farmers with modern animal husbandry skills and Introduction of a traceability system (LIIMS – Livestock identification, inspection and Management) database, integrated RFID & electronic weighing system.
Responding on behalf of the visiting students, Mr. Adam Saidu Paiko from the Department of Pest Management Technology expressed gratitude to Niger Foods for the warm reception and insightful engagement. He said the tour broadened the students’ understanding of modern agricultural operations and inspired them to pursue diverse career opportunities in the industry.
The field trip also featured visits to the Niger Foods MDS input warehouse, where the students were taken round by Mr Mahmud Abdullahi Gimba, and the Niger Foods breeding and feedlot center tagwai, where students observed cattle breeding & feedlot operations Coordinated by Dr Tumsiyya Maimuna Mann-Isah and practical and visible use of Agricultural motorized machinery (Tractor and various field implements) was performed by Niger Foods Female Tractor Operator Magdaline Luka Adamu
