Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has inaugurated a 10-member committee to reclaim grazing land and reserves in the state.
The committee is chaired by the Emir of Kagara, Ahmed Attahiru Gunna II.
The governor said the terms of reference of the committee are to identify all state and federal government-owned grazing reserves and trace relevant history associated with each grazing reserve.
He said 23 grazing reserves have so far been identified across the 25 local government areas of the state, adding that the government would take control of the reserves in accordance with the Land Use Act.
